Anyone attending Mix 07, please stop by and say hello during my 1 hour sandbox session (Monday 4/30/07 at noon).I will be demonstrating a new version of the Me.dium sidebar, vendor appropriate for the conference (hint hint), plus several user interface updates that have not been seen in public.CheersRobert
I checked in on a few of our past Me. of the Week’s to see how things are going for them.herculesroot, now lenedgerly in Me.dium, has been cruising around Denver on a Segway. You can’t imagine how jealous I am or how high the Segway ranks on my techno fetish meter.Okay, it’s not Tesla Motors high, but it’s up there.dsagman is ramping up to the release of his book, “Typo .” He’s got several interviews up on his site and will be at a few book stores if you’re in New York. And dep? Outside of being in Me.dium all day (literally), he’s got some new music up for us to enjoy. Thanks again to you three for being a Me. for us.
I hope that everyone is enjoying this weeks Me. of the Week, Bubbe.Do you think you have what it takes? Do have something to share with all of us? Do you yearn for the spotlight? Then you too can be our Me. Of The Week by contacting support@me.dium.com.Apply now.Apply often. And bribe the selection committee (that would be Me.).
Many thanks to Ekpyrotic for the laughs as our last Me. of the Week. I’ll be working on removing #12 from my to do list week if you’d like to join me. Be sure and give him a shoutout in Me.dium if you see him cruising by.The end of his reign brings us to our next Me. of the Week…Bubbe (Yiddish for Grandma) is well known among the internet community for her wonderful program entitled Feed Me Bubbe. Produced by her grandson Avrom, Bubbe goes out of her way to bring back the old time traditional flavors of Kosher cooking. She strives to make a connection between the generations which is something that seems to be almost completely lost these days.Bubbe’s recipes brings up the standards of todays nutrition, and time savers wherever possible keeping the flavors and memories alive. Her show Feed Me Bubbe is contacted by many fans from all over the world including: Japan, Africa, Australia, Israel, UK, as well as many others from around the world.Bubbe’s main goal is to provide newly married couples, young adults, and those with limited time a way to make a good meal instead of the junk food and takeout that they are used to getting. In addition to have everyone as well as baby boomer’s relate to the memories and feelings they had of their own grandparents and the feelings, aromas, and love of the way kitchens used to be.With a program that is approaching it’s first year anniversary Bubbe has already been featured and mentioned on many podcasts including One Minute How To, Upon Further Review, Big Brry, Viral on Veoh.com, Podcast Salad among many others. The show has also been mentioned by various bloggers including Andrew Keen from zdnet.com, Jackson West of newteevee.com and Bill Sobel of New York: Media Information Exchange Group, among others. The show has even made it in the media receiving segments on BBC Radio 4, Retirement Living’s Art of Living (Episode 60), and a big part of Carson Daly’s NBC project It’s Your Show. Carson praised Bubbe on Yahoo’s the 9 mentioning “…his grandparents are great…” Jeff Pulver, founder of Pulver Media and owner of Network2.tv recently sent Avrom and Bubbe to San Jose to participate in the VON 07 conference. There they met many participants that were excited about the program.Bubbe and her grandson Avrom have many surprises in store for this week. Stay tuned on me.dium and get ready to nosh (Yiddish: snack) on some thoughts from Bubbe as Bubbe becomes the me for the week.
That’s the conference, not the movement :)A crazy afternoon. Hung out with Dion from Ajaxian at lunch – top man. We talked online/offline (see yesterday’s post), talked about his new role as community evangelist at Google, and talked about how bad the English cricket team are (always good to meet a fellow Brit :)I then crashed into a Web2.Open session (very BarCamp-esque) on Music in the 2.0 world. The session was hosted by Corey from IODA – who has a very cool platform for finding legal downloads called Promonet. The whole Web 2.Open program has been the buzz of a relatively buzz-free conference. Shout outs to organizer Tara Hunt (even though she does think I’m a human spammer :(A drunken call from a mate in England (it was 2am there…) was interrupted by a friend at a Blue Chip in the Bay Area who wants to work at a start-up. He borrowed my Expo pass to walk around the exhibitors space for half an hour while I ate lunch. Naughty. And then the world went mad. I went to a session by Robert Scoble on Vlogging that was being streamed by Chris Pirillo. And Chris has an IRC streaming next to his live cast, which was also being projected on a screen 20 foot high in the real room we were all in. So I spammed the IRC with a Me.dium invite code, and got a bunch of new friends in Me.dium – some of who were in the physical room I was in watching Chris watching Scoble, and some of who were in the virtual room watching me spamming Chris’s IRC while he was streaming himself watching Scoble. And then we all ended up in a Me.dium room where Avrom, aka Me.dium user rpggame, was providing live blogging in Me.dium while watching the stream coming from Chris being beamed from the real room I was in. Still with me?I need to lie down. It’s been a long week. A summary post will come tomorrow.
