If you are a lover of music, Me.dium, and Mozilla then this was an excellent week. (If you’re not a fan, read on, I’ll change your mind.) For the first time in the history of the universe Me.dium can be used in the Songbird Media Player. This is an epic event. Music has always been about peace, love, sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll. What do all these things have in common? Sharing!

Now thanks to the formidable duo of Me.dium and Songbird, sharing all things music is at it’s best. Think Simon & Garfunkel, Sonny & Cher, Andre 3000 & Big Boi, or Captain & Tennille (okay maybe not them). You can download and listen to music together. Find, share, and explore new genres that once seemed strange. And of course, you can argue over the greatest band (Stones), rock voice (Plant), guitarist (Frusciante), and provide examples in real-time to back your story up.
In the spirit of the new Songbird and Me.dium marriage we are opening a poll to determine who at Me.dium has the best taste in music. Judge us! Vote at the bottom of the page.

Don’t forget to check out Me.dium in Songbird!
The Poshmama community hosted yet another awesome tour yesterday here in Me.dium. The ladies and everyone who joined them toured great spring fashion sites that had EVERYONE crossing their fingers for an especially early warm season.
Thanks to Poshmama’s fashion blogger, A Mom in Red Heels, we got to check out these sites with the help and advice of an expert. How great is it to be able to shop online along side a plethora of fashion conscious women and get their honest advice on each purchase decision you make?!? It was like a shopping date with a ton of your best girl friends … you know, the kind where you end up spending too much but come home with bags full of grade A purchases!
Thanks to the discount codes offered and the deals we found, I DIDN’T break the bank this time.
And the absolute best part… You, yes you, and your group of ladies can do exactly this anytime in Me.dium. Get your friends on and shop away for the best spring and summer finds.
Everyone look out for next month’s Poshmama shopping tour - I’ve heard talk of some major giveaways [but you didn't hear that from me

Me.dium Maniac and Shopaholic for life,
Ginevra (Gfigg)
From the time we first launched Me.dium, one of the things that people used it the for the most was to find and discuss music together online. Understanding that, we of course threw together a few small music events to make that experience even better. Well, as of today, we’ve taken that musical magic one step further. Today, Me.dium announced two new compatibility versions. The first is designed to work with the Songbird Media Player.
If you’re a real music fan, then you need to check out Songbird.
“Songbird is a desktop media player mashed-up with the Web. Songbird is committed to playing the music you want, from the sites you want, on the devices you want, challenging the conventions of discovery, purchase, consumption and organization of music on the Internet.”
According to the honchos at Songbird:
“Me.dium’s add-on lets Songbird users spontaneously discover new tunes by seeing what their friends are listening to in Songbird. It is exciting to see how quickly and easily developers are able to use our open, Mozilla-based platform to create innovative experiences that integrate the media player and the Web for Songbird users,” said Chris Otto, vice president of product for Songbird.
In addition, the Songbird developers and community was kind enough to vote Me.dium into their Top 40 list of the most rockin’ Firefox extensions that they wanted ported over for Songbird. Well, as of today, your online music experience has totally changed. And, you have to see how rockin’ Me.dium looks in Songbird? Sweet!
Also, as of today, Me.dium works in Firefox 3.0 Beta. From the start, we’ve gotten some sweet foxy love from the Firefox community, so we’re always trying to stay on top of the newest and the best in their world.
You keep browsing, we’ll keep developing. ![]()
