From the time we first launched Me.dium, one of the things that people used it the for the most was to find and discuss music together online. Understanding that, we of course threw together a few small music events to make that experience even better. Well, as of today, we’ve taken that musical magic one step further. Today, Me.dium announced two new compatibility versions. The first is designed to work with the Songbird Media Player.
If you’re a real music fan, then you need to check out Songbird.
“Songbird is a desktop media player mashed-up with the Web. Songbird is committed to playing the music you want, from the sites you want, on the devices you want, challenging the conventions of discovery, purchase, consumption and organization of music on the Internet.”
According to the honchos at Songbird:
“Me.dium’s add-on lets Songbird users spontaneously discover new tunes by seeing what their friends are listening to in Songbird. It is exciting to see how quickly and easily developers are able to use our open, Mozilla-based platform to create innovative experiences that integrate the media player and the Web for Songbird users,” said Chris Otto, vice president of product for Songbird.
In addition, the Songbird developers and community was kind enough to vote Me.dium into their Top 40 list of the most rockin’ Firefox extensions that they wanted ported over for Songbird. Well, as of today, your online music experience has totally changed. And, you have to see how rockin’ Me.dium looks in Songbird? Sweet!
Also, as of today, Me.dium works in Firefox 3.0 Beta. From the start, we’ve gotten some sweet foxy love from the Firefox community, so we’re always trying to stay on top of the newest and the best in their world.
You keep browsing, we’ll keep developing. ![]()
This sounds great. I’m always looking for new artists and favorite songs. I’m excited for sure! Music and Me.dium in perfect harmony!
