Every once in a while, a day comes along that changes humanity as we know it. The day Neil Armstrong walked on the Moon, the day women were allowed to vote, and now another monumental occurrence is about to take place: Download Day 2008! O.K. maybe not moonwalk implications here, but still, pretty sweet!

What is Download Day? Well friends, if you absolutely love Firefox, and have been anxiously awaiting for the Firefox 3 release, as we here at Me.dium have been doing since Mozilla announced the first 3.0 Beta build, here’s your chance to make internet history! On the day of launch, the people at Firefox are trying to set the World Record for most downloads in a single day. Check out Download Day Headquarters to pledge yourself to being a part of this monumental 24 hours and promising to download! You can even check out a world map to see how many people from your country have already pledged! If that’s not enough and you are a super Firefox fan there are many other ways to help the Firefox cause.
And of course, after you download Firefox 3 and help smash the download record to little tiny smithereens, go ahead and make sure, if of course you’re one of the few that haven’t already, to add Me.dium to your brand-spankin’ new browser.
Me.dium enhances your Firefox world. We’ve been a recommended Add on for Firefox and compatible with 3.0 from the start. We can’t wait to see what Firefox 3 has in store! Let’s use some of that passionate Me.dium love to help Firefox set a new world record!

Hello Hello!
Well I hope you’ve been enjoying the sidebar, and have been cruising the internet with all your friends. We’re trying to make the internet a “not-so-lonely” place, and we truly think that being around others while surfing can really change your online experience.
However….Just like in the “real-world” we all need or privacy and space every now and then. As great as it is to surf with friends, sometimes it’s cool to “fly solo.” Me.dium understands this, and that’s why you always have complete control of your privacy settings.
It’s as simple as that. While Me.dium gets upgrades and makeovers every so often, the one thing that will never change is our respect for your privacy. We all love our friends, but there’s nothing wrong with a little “Me.” time now and again. (Get it? See what I did there? Man, I crack myself up!)
xox–Jenny (I leave you with a picture of my dogs Maverick and Goose. They have nothing to do with the blog, but they’re just too cute, and I feel like it.)
Hi there again,
Well, I’ve completed my first and have started my second day as the Me.dium intern. My desk is a little bare and could use some sprucing up, perhaps some family photos or some Far-Side cartoons. The first day was much as I expected it would be, administrative formalities to begin with, like getting my computer and receiving my very own Me.dium email address that routinely beeps at me throughout the day alerting me that I do indeed have mail.
The office atmosphere is one that trumps any formal cubicle corporate wasteland. With our desks clumped in threes and fours, minus the grey walls, according to the type of work each are responsible for, a kitchen filled with snacks ranging from ice cream to fresh strawberries, I am starting to feel right at home.
Conversations flow between the desks creating a sense of collective unity not seen in many of the homogenized businesses I could have been working for this summer. The progressive style of this office doesn’t stop there. One of the boardrooms has been coined the “garage” because of the large sliding door that comes down from the north wall. On top of this, I saw a Nintendo Wii calling my name from one of the boardrooms, attached to a wall projector. Needless to say, working here is a breath of fresh air.
Ginevra had me start working on some of the promotional video ideas that my CU campaigns class developed for Me.dium. I started by watching a DVD of a local skate team and have been trying to figure out what are the best ways to get the Me.dium’s name intertwined. Today, Peter, received some of the voice recordings for the Me.dium commercials and we went through them and took notes on what we liked and what needed work. Peter has stayed in contact with Phil, another student in my campaigns class, who helped write and develop the Me.dium videos. Hopefully these videos are getting shot this week and will be posted on the Me.dium homepage sometime soon.
Look back sometime this week and check and see how the videos are coming! My Me.dium username is “worldsnow” so add me to your friends list. Also, if you are new to me.dium scene make sure to check out our Frequestly asked questions and Tutorial video for information.
Where is my red Swingline stapler?
Typically when I throw up a new blog it’s to update you on current Me.dium news, help you understand a new feature, or to remind you that the team at Me.dium is here to answer any questions you may have about your sidebar. Blogs usually equal work time for me, but now I’m using the blog for personal gain….mwahahah.
To sum it up folks, now I’m asking for your help!
Ok, so I love my job (and no, I’m not just saying that in case one of the board of directors reads this, cough cough
Where else can I friend, surf, and chat with people all over the globe? We’ve got Me.dium users from Alabama to Amsterdam, and we were able to see Me.dium’s spread over the globe with our official Me.dium Map. (CLICK HERE for more details on that!)
Now, sadly up until now, the only time I’ve ever been out of the United States was a Monday night in Tijuana, (which I do not speak of, better to forget…haha) However, this summer I am planning a trip to Europe. Now where do you come into all of this? Well, as a traveler-noob, I have no idea how transportation over there works, where to go, landmarks to see, etc etc.
I’ve been doing a lot of planning and surfing online, alone…which is lame. I know that many of you are either from Europe, or have traveled there before, so if any of you want to chat, share advice, and surf with me to check out any “must see places,” I would totally appreciate it.
Me.dium is all about surfing with your friends. Me.dium is a great place to just be social, but it also is an awesome planning tool. So, why not be my friend, and help me plan a killer trip. (So far our potential places are Ireland, Scotland, England, and maybe France)
My screen name is Jenniferlauren, and I look forward to surfing with you!

See that handsome devil? No, that’s not a male model….that’s Me.dium’s own Peter, or PJN as you may know him. Well guess what, today is his BIRTHDAY, and so I would like all of you to take a moment or two and celebrate the birth of this glorious specimen that is Peter.
Peter is a Gemini and enjoys long walks on the beach. He also loves to cook and listen to the Rolling Stones while doing so. This strapping young chap studied philosophy and economics (the two most exciting subjects out there) while in college, so you’ll be sure to have hours of ultra-stimulating conversation with him. If you see him out celebrating his birthday tonight (probably in the Denver/Boulder area,) make sure you buy him a drink (or three) and then ask him to dance. (Now I don’t know if Peter has any dance skills or not, but it’s sure to be entertaining either way.)
If you want to know more about Peter, feel free to message him on Me.dium, his username is “PJN.” Tell him “happy birthday” and let him know how much you adore him. All in all, just try to embarrass him as much as you possibly can.
Happy Birthday Peter! AND MAKE SURE TO CLICK HERE TO SEE OUR COMMUNITY TEAM’S BIRTHDAY DANCE STARRING NON OTHER THAN MEMBERS OF YOUR COMMUNITY TEAM!! I call it “the community team can-can”

xoxo
